Thank you to our Lending Partner on this Project:
Moon Valley Organics, established by Aaron and Kim Otto in 2004, originated from a farm in rural Washington. They specialize in creating premium, organic personal care products that promote a holistic approach to self-care and environmental sustainability. By utilizing farm-sourced ingredients and eco-friendly packaging, they ensure their products are free from artificial additives.
Embracing eco-conscious and socially responsible practices, Moon Valley produces organic skincare products in three categories: cleansers, moisturizers, healing salves, honey, and honeycomb.
Additionally, Moon Valley Organics maintains a 5-acre pollinator garden to raise awareness about the significance of pollinator preservation, while also hosting volunteers annually through their “World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms” initiative to educate aspiring farmers.
Currently, Moon Valley Organics serves customers through direct sales in wholesale and retail markets, including Pike Place Market in Seattle. Their wholesale success lies in natural grocery chains and independent retailers. Transitioning from direct store shipping to collaborating with Lotus Light in 2021 for distribution expansion, they aim to partner with additional nationwide distributors to broaden their reach, particularly targeting untapped regions like Southern California, the Mid-Atlantic, and the South.
Securing 504 Financing:
Recognizing the limitations of their outdated manufacturing facility in supporting their growth, the company sought a more efficient space to enhance operations and reduce costs. After finding a
suitable building and equipment, financing became a hurdle due to liquidity requirements.
Securing SBA 504 project financing was crucial for the purchase. The relocation of their manufacturing and shipping operations to the new facility will significantly boost efficiencies, lower shipping
expenses, and create employment opportunities for five new staff members.
NWBDA was thrilled to be a part of such an important and environmentally friendly project!
