Mark’s Projects

Prost! Portland

Since 2009, Christian and Dan have opened two German themed restaurants and a Gastro Pub in Portland. Mark and Albina Community Bank were able to navigate the SBA 504 loan process and provide Christian and Dan with the real estate acquisition financing necessary to allow them to remain in their current location and provide for future expansion and growth opportunities.

“NWBDA wasn’t intimidated by the complexity involved with this opportunity. Mark assured me he would be there every step of the way, and as the process unfolded, he explained to me what was happening in a language I understood. This financing allowed us to take control of the Prost! property, expand our existing business, and provide operating efficiencies across all of our business locations. In fact, we just celebrated our largest ever Oktoberfest thanks in part to the new space we can now utilize.” – Christian Navarra

Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital

Pinehurst Veterinary Hospital provides wellness care, sick pet care, emergency and urgent care, dentistry, in-house diagnostics, and more for dogs and cats in Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater, and the surrounding areas. The hospital was a startup veterinarian practice when they reached out to NWBDA. The three veterinarians had previously been employed at another veterinary clinic. However, they found that the clinic’s trajectory diverged from their professional aspirations. Thus, they decided to establish their own practice, spurred on by the resounding support of the clients currently under their care. Mark Beppler and Heritage Bank helped the veterinarians utilize the 504 Loan Program to purchase a building for their new practice. This new building will provide the space they need now, accommodate their growth in the future, and also allows the veterinarians the opportunity to secure their occupancy costs.

How did NWBDA help your business? Allowed us to exist!! Without your help, our dream of building a Veterinary hospital and owning our property just didn’t seem possible. Absolute pleasure dealing with Mark. Experienced, available, and great communicator. – Christopher Spath

APX Auto Brokers

APX Auto Brokers has been working hard to bring the Pacific Northwest the finest selection of pre-owned and certified used vehicles. APX Auto Brokers will work to find you the right vehicle at the right price with the right financing options available for you.

Spencer Pemberton started wholesaling vehicles to other retail dealers in 2012, and by the end of 2015 he was successful enough to rent his first physical lot in Edmonds and APX Auto Brokers was born. Through hard work and diligence, Spencer has grown from selling one car at a time to now stocking over 300 cars ready for sale. Mark Beppler and Columbia State Bank helped APX Auto Brokers purchase the building and lot for the business .

How did NWBDA help your business? Getting me into the building I needed for my business and lowering my monthly payment. Great experience, the team went above all standards. – Spencer Pemberton

AM Manufacturing

AM Manufacturing, founded by Mason Drennen and Alex Whitehouse in 2006, expanding to a full-time venture in 2011. In 2018, Melissa Harjo joined the team, marking the start of a new chapter for the company. Together, they acquired a building in January 2019, intending to further scale up their business. However, their plans were interrupted by a fire shortly after moving in, causing setbacks but fortunately sparing some of their CNC machines.

Throughout 2019, AM Manufacturing continued its operations from leased locations while navigating insurance claims for the damaged equipment and building. Then, they acquired a complementary business, which provided additional CNC machines and clientele. With guidance from Mark Beppler and Commencement Bank, AM Manufacturing embarked on the 504 Loan Program journey to purchase a property capable of consolidating their operations under one roof. This new space would accommodate their existing inventory while allowing room for growth and efficiency.

How did NWBDA help your business? The 25 year fixed amortization makes it so we can truly afford this beautiful building 🙂 Thank you!!! Mark was very kind and patient (maybe too patient LOL) with us and the bank. we really appreciated his responsiveness and explanations!!! – Melissa Harjo
