Cascade Auto LogoIn the year 1986, Cascade Automation, Inc. was established in Springfield, Oregon. Originally, it was founded as a pivotal provider of instrumentation and controls services and swiftly the company carved its name as a paragon of excellence, synonymous with top-notch service and impeccable craftsmanship. Fast forward to 2019, a significant juncture marked the acquisition of the company by Travis Dawson, a staff member of Cascade Automation since 1998. Then, as the change of ownership unfolded, Travis’s ingrained knowledge of the company became apparent as the company continued to operate and grow.

About Cascade Automation

From its inception, Cascade Automation embarked on a trajectory of expansion, continuously augmenting its product and service portfolio to align with its unwavering commitment to the industrial process control domain. Actually, the company specializes in rejuvenating, reconstituting, and mending equipment primarily serving multiple industries across the Pacific Northwest. Additionally, their clientele spans diverse sectors, encompassing pulp and paper, power, chemicals, water, food, and beverages. Beyond providing new, surplus, and remanufactured components, the company offers on-field support and services for the products they sell. While their main market lies in the Pacific Northwest, their online presence through eBay has enabled them to sell across the country.

The niche of Cascade Automation is locating product from around the country, often times discarded by previous owners as being worthless. Some components and equipment parts find themselves in Cascade Automation’s inventory for extended periods, awaiting the perfect buyer for that specific piece. In fact, Travis’s keen eye for value frequently translates into acquisitions at fractions of their resale price, a unique aspect driving their success.

On top of selling products, Cascade Automation is the only State of Oregon authorized training facility for the LEA-Industrial Technical Licenses. Ultimately, this facility not only underscores its commitment to industrial growth but also bolsters its ability to attract and retain skilled personnel, fostering a robust workforce.

Planning for Industrial Excellence

Looking forward, Travis envisions a thriving future of industrial excellence for the company, which drove his decision to seize the opportunity to acquire a dedicated building and property for his business. This monumental step was made possible through a partnership with NWBDA and Umpqua Bank, leveraging the SBA 504 Program. In fact, this strategic move proved crucial, as the benefits offered by the program, such as a minimal down payment and a prolonged repayment period, played a central role in making the purchase a reality.

Following this significant acquisition, Cascade Automation has experienced remarkable growth. Despite fluctuations in the economy, the demand for high-quality refurbished parts has remained unwavering. Consequently, this demand has been so strong that the company has expanded its team by bringing aboard three new members.
